Background

Friends-R-4 is attempting to fund the materials required for the refurbishment of the Ronald McDonald House in Parvkville, Melbourne. The cornerstone of RMHC's work, Ronald McDonald Houses are attached to major women or children’s hospitals and provide a 'home-away-from-home' for seriously ill children and their families.

The intention is to completely demolish the back area of the house and rebuild a play area for the children and an outdoor entertaining and cooking area for the mums and dads and children. Tthe back of the house was getting very old and tired and in need a huge makeover.

The total cost of the project is approximately $250,000, and as evidenced from the list below, Dekonstrukt are very close to having all the materials covered at no cost.

What they have so far is:

  1. Mirvac Real Estate P/L providing Drawings design costings and project management
  2. Tiger Turf supplying synthetic turf
  3. George Papazisis from Williamstown Rotary taking on the building role
  4. Crapper Plumbing
  5. Carpentry for some of the project provided by Luke Lawry (Rotary Williamstown)
  6. Ronald McDonald HouseSteel works provided by Matt Lawry (Rotary Williamstown)
  7. Shade sails by Seaport Canvas Williamstown
  8. Electricals by Des Hosking (Rotary Williamstown)
  9. All timber by Ronnie Goldberg (Rotary Williamstown), from Gunns Timber Products.
  10. Plumbing by Big Man Plumbing
  11. Out door furniture by John-Paul Biondo

What Friends-R-4 are looking at raising funds to cover an automatic roof system for the decking, estimated to cost approximately $15,000.

The Yellow Brick Road refurbishment project is to be undertaken at zero cost by Dekonstrukt.
