Friends-R-4 would like to announce that the Governor of Victoria, Professor David de Kretser, AC, has accepted an invitation to become the Patron in Chief of the Richard Pratt Fellowships in Prostate Cancer.
Former AFL Coach and footballer David Parkin has also been named as a Patron of the Fellowship, which was established in 2009 in an effort to create on ongoing legacy in prostate cancer research and treatment in the name of Richard Pratt, who died as a result of the disease in 2009.
Friends-R-4 is an initiative being chaired by Dr. Ronnie Goldberg OAM and the Rotary Club of Williamstown, whose aims are to provide funding for medical research and equipment for prostate, skin and blood cancers.
The Richard Pratt Fellowship in Prostate Cancer will be represented by an amount of $100,000 being awarded annually in perpetuity, to fund a research fellowship involving translational research into prostate cancer, as well as an awareness campaign to help early detection.
Each year the Pratt Foundation will advertise the availability of a Richard Pratt Fellowship in Prostate Cancer and assemble a selection panel to determine the successful applicant.
